For the year 2023, specialists forecast a 35% increase in the refurbishment sector of already existing shopping centers, of the stores inside them, of malls, retail parks, shopping galleries etc.
Following the year 2022, marked by fewer deliveries of modern retail developments, with only 77,000 square meters added to the total existing area, i.e. half of the initially estimated deliveries and a substantial drop compared to the 102,000 square meters registered in 2021.
Whereas, during the pandemic, the construction sector was not put on hold, as was the case in other industries, last year this sector faced a different situation, everything unfolded uncharacteristically, in the context of the war on the border with Ukraine.
Specialists hold that retail project developers will accelerate launch rates of retail facilities intended to satisfy the need for consumption in the towns around the capital city or around the major cities, small galleries or anchor hypermarkets.

The construction of shopping malls in 2023 will be significantly reduced, but our position will be strong in the construction of strip malls (outdoor malls), family centers and what retail specialists generically refer to as shopping spaces.
The increase in the price of construction materials impacts all areas of activity, but the most affected are the developers of real estate projects, shopping malls, and retail parks.
